Yesterday Sega announced two new Sonic games, a classic Sonic game in Sonic Mania, and a modern Sonic game in Sonic...Generations 2? Resistance? We don't know, it doesn't have a name yet. Anyways, it's a modern Sonic game in the style of Sonic Generations with both Classic and Modern Sonic. Only probably with original levels.
And currently, they both look pretty fun. While I prefer 3D Sonic over 2D Sonic, I am still interested in Sonic Mania. The developers have all worked on Classic Sonic games in one way or another so, unlike Sonic 4, it is guaranteed to be something very similar to that style, only with probably more modern gimmicks, power, and graphics. Plus multiple playable characters as well, which means I can play as Tails once again. Yay. Honestly, a retro revival is something Sonic sort of needs, and I imagine this game is probably the safest between the two and will probably sell the best. Whether it will be the best is something to be determined later.
Then we have Sonic we-still-don't-have-a-name-for-this-thing. While we weren't given any gameplay, boost style will probably make a return based on what we saw at the cutscene and the fact that they're referencing the makers of Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations (I'd like to remind people that Sonic Unleashed also had the boost style, but that's neither here nor there). Which is good, as I feel the boost style is probably the most solid gameplay style they have so far. What they need to do is not constantly go to new gameplay styles, like with what they did with Lost World, but to expand and tweak the gameplay style they have already. Like giving it multiple playable characters (still waiting for my boost style Tails and Shadow).
As for the story, it kinda looks interesting...but I have absolutely no trust to Sonic's current writers, so unless they got new ones (or got back whoever wrote Unleashed and Black Knight), I'm not holding my breath for this story. At best, I hope it'll be downplayed. But who knows, maybe they'll pull something good out, story wise? I won't say the story is dead in the water, but I'm going into the story department with zero expectations.
But beyond that, these two games look pretty good so far. We don't know too much about the second one yet, so there are a lot more unknowns when it comes to it, but it does go back to the boost style, so it should work pretty good. We'll just have to see what they manage to do with these games.

The videos are back up
So, for those of you (who are still on here) that remember, because Youtube is Youtube, the various fan lyric videos that myself and Zelda206 did were taken off Youtube. It sucks that it had to happen, but that's what happens when Youtube constantly spirals down and becomes more and more anti-creator. But, for those of you that want to watch those videos once again, they have been reuploaded elsewhere. https://www.bitchute.com/channel/u8C5Am6Qez24/ All three of the fan lyric collabs we did have been put on there. Not only that, but there may or may not be a new one coming up within the next few days. So, if you want to reexperience those, there's your chance.
Looking back on the 2010s
So with the end of the decade, I figured I’d look back on the last decade and give my thoughts on it, like many others have. Obviously, this is going to be a very personal experience. This decade was basically the start of my writing hobby. Technically, I started getting interested in Fanfiction writing during 2011, and that’s late 2011 when I joined dA, but that’s close enough. I have been writing on here for 8 years. And while my older stuff is…a work in progress at best, it’s clear how much I’ve improved over the years. From my old Pokémon and Sonic works, to the summer of unfinished stories because I didn’t have Microsoft Word at the time and wasn’t able to comfortably write for other reasons, to the Sonic/MLP crossovers where my first major improvement as a writer happened, to my MLP stories in general back when I was part of the fandom, to finally going back to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon where my second major improvement as a writer happened. It’s been a long journey to where I am
Sword and Shield, How I Feel About it Now
So it's been a while since Sword and Shield's controversial dex cut happened. And as such, I figured I might as well give my thoughts, now that the game is only a month away and I've had time away from when the dex cut happened. I still can't say I'm happy about this. To be honest, I still feel like this was a stupid idea. And considering most of the excuses that they've made on the dex (both the competitive balance and the high quality animations excuses) have been basically debunked (heck, the newer excuse that they had to redo all of the models is also very unlikely, as most 3D animators have noted based on what we've seen). That they seem to either be misunderstanding the situation at best, or are flat out lying at worst (we don't know yet, so I'll reserve judgement) is fairly frustrating. I suppose, if anything, I just hope that the reason for the dex cut is something that we haven't been given yet because it's important to the game. I doubt it, but I can always
So, I'm Disappointed with Sword and Shield
So, for those of you who haven't heard the news, Pokemon Sword and Shied won't have any past Pokemon in the game that isn't from the Galar Dex. Which is...bad. Really, really bad. All around bad.
To be honest, cutting Pokemon is not a good idea when it comes to the fact that every Pokemon is someone's favorite. Every Pokemon has someone that wants to use them. Even the most obscure Pokemon. So several people are going to see their favorite Pokemon cut. Several collectors are unable to keep their collection in the newer games. Competitive players are no longer able to use their mons. This effects so many people. And for what?

I wished I had responded sooner when you posted the journal. Lots of things going on on my side.
SEGA is playing safe by going retro for reviews, and with good reviews come good sales. It feels like they're regressing back though, starting over with Sonic Mania.
But with the Resistance, if they add Shadow for $9.99-19.99 for dlc, then...
